Due to an ongoing increase in workload, we have vacancies in both of our offices for Senior Geotechnical Engineers/Engineering Geologists to work as technical leads and project managers. You will be working for the largest site investigation contractor in Ireland, based in their Head Quarters in Ballymoney, Co Antrim or out of their Balbriggan, Co Dublin offices. You will be responsible for the management of ground investigation contracts undertaken by the company; to provide guidance and support to a team of Site Engineers and Geologists; to implement quality control measures in terms of information reported to Clients; preparation and development of Interpretative Ground Investigation Reports of varying complexity; scoping ground investigations with Clients; ensure Clients’ technical requirements are met.
Reporting to the Contracts Director, you will be accountable for overseeing delivery of ground investigation data for a wide range of civil & structural engineering projects. Additionally the work will involve the writing of desk study reports, reviewing, interpreting and presenting geotechnical data, site supervision, the writing and preparation of factual and interpretative ground investigation reports and management of the budget for each project. You will provide technical assistance to the junior and senior members of staff to deliver geotechnical solutions for our wide ranging client base.
BSc/BEng degree level qualified in Geology/Engineering Geology/Geotechnical Engineering or other relevant discipline • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the sector • Understanding of laboratory testing and interpreting results with working knowledge of geotechnical and environmental guidance and the relevant standards • Experience in preparing interpretative ground investigation reports and ability to check reports to a high standard • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent numerical skills using own calculations and using industry software • Prepared to work as part of a team, but must be able to manage and prioritise your own workload • Full UK/ROI driving licence.
