Neil started studying geology at GCSE level before completing A levels in Physics, Mathematics and Geology. After completing his undergraduate in Geology at Edinburgh University, Neil was given a NERC-funded place on a Petroleum Engineering MSc course at Herriot Watt University, which he completed with distinction. Following his academic adventures, he began working as a Geotechnical Engineer. After gaining experience in the field, Neil transferred to a major worldwide consultancy firm to see the business from the other side of the coin. While working on major infrastructure projects was fulfilling, the call of the sea was too hard to ignore; Neil left the UK to travel the world (mostly West Africa) as part of a Marine Seismic Acquisition crew for PGS. Following a thoroughly invigorating five years offshore Neil decided to return to Northern Ireland. Naturally his background in Geotechnical Engineering led to him join the then newly-formed and rapidly expanding Causeway Geotech. Following an initial 8 month site-based refresher course, Neil has been mostly office-based working as Project Manager on a number of large high-value projects. Neil has brought a welcome element of organisation to the company, and has continually performed to the highest standards on projects where lesser men would have fallen by the wayside.
