Darren graduated from NUI Galway with a BSc in Earth Sciences in 2006, while later graduating in 2010 with a Masters in Environmental Engineering from the Queen’s University of Belfast.
His career in ground investigation was kickstarted by a brief period working for Soil Mechanics in GB back in 2006, before he moved back to Ireland, joining Glover Site Investigations in early 2007. Throughout his time working with Glover, he amassed a significant amount of site experience across the length and breadth of Ireland and GB. In 2012, Darren completed a stint working as a Senior Site Engineer in the Marine Department on the Forth Replacement Crossing. Later that year, he joined Causeway Geotech. Working initially as a Reporting Engineer, Darren quickly climbed the ranks to become Geotechnical Manager with overall responsibility for the team of engineers and geologists within the company.
In early 2017, Darren was appointed Director with responsibility for Contracts and Operations. His role involves oversight of all contracts, from award through to completion. Ultimately, he is the person responsible for the successful execution of work, with a heavy emphasis on Client satisfaction. He prides himself on his ability to support his strong technical knowledge with a good handle on the practicalities. Luckily, he is backed up by an extremely strong and enthusiastic team, so he generally enjoys his work!
