Ciaran Doherty

Director

Ciaran has over 20 years’ experience working within the Engineering and Environmental sectors covering a wide range of roles. He attended the Queen’s University of Belfast where he studied Environmental Sciences followed by a MSc in Environmental Engineering.

On completing his studies, Ciaran began his career working for a number of Building and Civil Engineering companies carrying out various roles, ranging from Labourer to Site Engineer. He then spent some time working for an environmental remediation contractor, specialising in the remediation of hydrocarbon contaminated soils and groundwaters. Ciaran’s career then took a slightly different path into geotechnics and ground investigation, working for one of the largest SI Contractors in UK and Ireland.

Ciaran progressed rapidly in this industry, becoming Contracts Manager for the Northern Ireland region, responsible for a number of large-scale contracts including the Titanic Quarter and A5 Western Transport Corridor Ground Investigations. He then joined Glover Site Investigations in 2010.

After the unfortunate demise of Glover SI, along with some colleagues, Ciaran formed Causeway Geotech Ltd in January 2012. From then, Ciaran has been the Director responsible for a number of roles including Finance and HSEQ.

Ciaran has a wide depth of knowledge and experience in the civil and environmental engineering disciplines. Having an excellent understanding of the information a client needs from a site investigation, Ciaran’s input and involvement in any contract ultimately pays dividends to the client.
